In 2004, the Settlement of the Year contest, put on by the specialized Cottage.ru portal for low-rise properties and countryside living, was held for the first time. These prestigious awards, which later go on to become annual, are presented for achievements in the low-rise and cottage construction industries, and is meant to promote the formation and improvement of Russian standards for countryside housing construction quality. At the very first Settlement of the Year contest in 2004, Knyazhye Ozero went home with the gold, and Goluboye earned silver in the BUSINESS category.
